When I moved back to the San Francisco Bay Area from the pit called Los Angeles, I was looking for places to hike. I knew this area, but much had changed, some for the better and some for the worse.
Where did I want to hike? I was in really poor physical shape after ten years in my car and behind a desk in LA. Which trails would induce a coronary and which ones would be mob scenes?

The only way for me to find out was to hike them. You can do that or you can enjoy this visual catalog. Here you go...
