Long Ridge: The Pond

I am not sure what exactly this spot is called, maybe "Peters' Pond"? I do know it is peacefull here. As I said, I came back early one morning to catch the light coming over the hill before the sun hit the water, spoiling the reflections. I recall two ducks cruising around.

Trees at the pond. Trees at the pond.

The pond looks very different later in the day when the sun is on the water.

When everyone else stays at home, that's my favorite time to be out. Not only are there fewer people but the views are better at odd times and overcast days.

This place is still pretty, no matter what time of day you are there. Plus, I don't think photographs do justice to the fine detail.

Foliage at the pond in full sun. The fresh spring growth
has a bluish cast to it.

Wrap up this loop by looking at the other end of Peters Creek where the trail is shady and there is an old orchard.
